It drives up your workflow, whether you&#8217;re writing a blog or a novel.<\/p>\n<p>It takes only few minutes to learn. Once you master it, you&#8217;ll never want to write in any other way.<\/p>\n<h2>Tutorial<\/h2>\n<p>To make headers, preface the phrase with hash marks (or use Ctrl+H). The number of hash marks indicates the level of the heading. For example:<\/p>\n<h1># Header One<\/h1>\n<h2>## Header Two<\/h2>\n<h3>### Header Three<\/h3>\n<p>To <strong>**make a phrase bold**<\/strong>, surround words with two asterisks (or use Ctrl+B).<\/p>\n<p>To <em>_make a phrase italic_<\/em>, surround words with an underscore (or use Ctrl+I ).<\/p>\n<p>To mark text for deletion, surround words with double vertical lines ||. <s>because it&#8217;s somewhat uncessary. <\/s><\/p>\n<p>To add comments inline, surround words with <em>++<\/em> (double plus signs).<\/p>\n<p>To create an unordered list, preface each item in the list with a &#8220;<em>&#8211;<\/em>&#8220;(minus sign), a &#8220;<em>+<\/em>&#8221; (plus sign) or a &#8220;<em>\u2022<\/em>&#8221; (middle dot) and a space:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">&#8211; This is<br \/>\n+ An example<br \/>\n\u2022 Of an unordered list<\/p>\n<p>To create an ordered list, preface it with numbers:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>This is<\/li>\n<li>An example<\/li>\n<li>Of an ordered list<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>To create a layered list, preface it with one of the above signs and enter a <em>Tab<\/em> before the signs to create sub layers and sub-sub layers:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">&#8211; Item 1 level 1<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">&#8211; Item 1 level 2<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">&#8211; Item 2 level 1<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">&#8211; Item 2 level 2<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">&#8211; Item 3 level 1<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">&#8211; Item 3 level 2<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Item 3 level 3 item 1<\/li>\n<li>Item 3 level 3 item 2<\/li>\n<li>Item 3 level 3 item 3<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Use &#8220;<em>Enter<\/em>&#8221; to escape the bullet list if you need.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to create a <em>block quote<\/em>, like when you want to provide a motto, simply preface the quote with a &gt;, greater than caret.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #aaaaaa;\"><br \/>\n&gt; Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.<br \/>\n&gt; Einstein<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nTo make a divider, type 4 hyphens in a row.<\/p>\n<pre>----<\/pre>\n<h2>Escape Character<\/h2>\n<p>Some characters are automatically interpreted as part of the markup formatting. Inserting a backslash before them to indicate they should not be interpreted as format.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&gt; A block quote<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #dddddd;\">\\<\/span>&gt; Not a block quote<\/p>\n<h2>Link, Image and Footnote<\/h2>\n<p>To create a <a title=\"Inspire Writer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inspire-writer.com\">link<\/a>, wrap the link text in brackets (or use Ctrl+K).<\/p>\n<p>To insert an image, type (img) (or use Ctrl+M).<\/p>\n<p>To add a footnote, type (fn) (or use Shift+Ctrl+F).<\/p>\n<h2>Comment and comment Block<\/h2>\n<p>To add a comment, wrap the text you want to add comment to with two plus signs ++.<\/p>\n<p>Or you can start a paragraph with two percent signs %% to make it a comment block.<\/p>\n<h2>Code and Code Block<\/h2>\n<p>To mark a part of text as code, warp it with two back quotes <code>``<\/code>.<\/p>\n<p>Start a paragraph with two single quotation marks <code>''<\/code>, and you&#8217;ll get a code block.<\/p>\n<h2>Raw Source and Raw Source block<\/h2>\n<p>Wrap the text with two tildes <code>~~<\/code> to mark it as raw source.<\/p>\n<p>Start a paragraph with two tildes <code>~~<\/code> to mark the whole paragraph as a raw source block.<\/p>\n<h2>Tables<\/h2>\n<p>To create a table in Inspire, just click\u00a0<strong>Markup &gt; Table<\/strong>, or use the shortcut keys<strong>\u00a0Shift + Ctrl + T<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Then change the table properties on the top right corner, and add your table content in the columns as you need.<\/p>\n<h2>More Definitions<\/h2>\n<p>All definitions can be seen via the <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/btn_markup.png\" width=\"52\" height=\"48\" \/> button (or use Ctrl+9).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Inspire markup language is a super easy way to add formatting to text by using special characters around them, so you can define them, such as adding two asterisk marks ** around the text to define it as bold.
